Newbiggin RNLI – May Day Mile Beach Clean

Saturday 4th May @ Newbiggin, Church Point, Northumberland, NE64 6DB

Celebrate May Day by joining Newbiggin RNLI on a sponsored walk along the bay from Church Point to Spittle Point. Help clean up the local beach while raising funds to support the RNLI’s life saving efforts. Refreshments and souvenirs will be available at the Boathouse. Make a difference while enjoying a scenic walk by the sea!

Ugly Bug Safari at Belsay Hall

4th-6th May @ Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens, Belsay, NE20 0DX

Explore the gardens and hunt for all sorts of creepy crawlies like beetles, woodlice, and caterpillars. A friendly team of expert gardeners will be there to assist you in building bug hotels, and you’ll discover just how important these incredible insects are for keeping Belsay’s gardens thriving. Make your own Plant Pots – Ceramic Workshop

Dyeing to Craft

10th, 11th and 12th May @ The Alnwick Garden

A weekend of craft workshops by Northumbria University. Activities include demonstrations by local spinners and weavers on May 10th and 11th, as well as hands-on wet felting sessions on May 11th and 12th. Entry to the workshops is free with Garden admission.

42nd Street The Musical

This is a grand production of the Tony Award-winning musical, following Peggy Sawyer, a talented aspiring performer, as she lands her dream role on Broadway. The Belgrave House Band: Back to Black

The Belgrave House Band is back for their ninth edition, paying tribute to Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black” album. Drawing inspiration from Amy’s live shows and girl groups from the 60s, the band, joined by vocalist Lydia Kotsirea, aim to deliver a faithful rendition of the 2007 album with passion and energy.

Tom Fool returns to Alnwick Castle with a season of fun-filled family shows. From “School for Fools,” exploring foolery’s history, to “A Fittingly Fiery Folly,” where he tackles fire, and “A Napple on the Numbskull,” contemplating gravity with an apple, audiences are in for laughter and entertainment. Performances at 11:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm, weather permitting.

Longbow Demonstrations with Master Archer Andy Rice

6th – 9th July @ Alnwick Castle

Witness the mastery of Andy Rice, resident skilled archer, showcasing the art of the mediaeval English longbow in captivating demonstrations at the Inner Bailey & Archery area.
